Description
The archetypal Singapore shophouse is a two-storey or three-storey building, the front door is centrally situated, with a pair of windows placed, one on each side. There is also a pair of half-length doors which enable the main doors to be kept open during the day. Traditionally, there would have been a wooden signboard above the door stated the name of the family who resided or the business within.
